The client has the most exquisite new extension where detail is everything. Large, expansive windows mean that the living space feels like it is part of the garden. And because of this - the planting is always going to be on show. 

We’ve opted for a low planting bed which mirrors the shape and size of the dinning room window - it’s as if the frame has been pushed out, laid down horizontally and then filled with plants.

Clay pavers make up the majority of the hard landscaping, the dark charcoal grey allows the vibrant greens to pop.

The 'nowhere to hide’ planting is mostly evergreen, which provides varying interest throughout the seasons. It needs to look as strong on a dull January morning as it does in the height of summer.

Playful verbena is loved by the pollinators when the suns out in the summer, whilst other plants, wait their turn to display colour in autumn with the anemone and lilac and then the mahonia in winter. Spring brings with it alliums and eurphorbia.
